Silat Harimau Training Program

This program is for students who are interested in learning the full Silat Harimau system.

Silat Harimau consist of four levels or phases.

The length of time students spends on each level is determined by the ability and the seriousness of the students.

In general the length of time needed to complete each levels are as follows:

1. Level 1 : 6 months or 48 practice sessions – Batik sash
2. Level 2:  6 months or 48 practice sessions – Batik sash with yellow stripe
3. Level 3:  2 years to 3 years – Batik sash with red stripe
4. Level 4:  3 years to 4 years – Batik sash with black stripe

The mastery of the materials in the basic level is very important. The basic level builds the foundation for the advance levels.

Level 1 Curriculum:

1.  Harimau Stances
2.  Harimau hand techniques – Strikes, blocks, grabs
3.  Harimau leg techniques – Kicks, Knees, Sweeps
4.  Harimau falling techniques
5.  Harimau four steps (Langkah Ampek Harimau)
6.  Harimau  level-1 form
7.  Harimau Catua steps
8.  Harimau Catua steps applications
9.  Harimau basic technique combination (1 thru 5)
10. Harimau self defense techniques (empty hand /knife) – 5 common attacks
11. Harimau locking techniques (1 thru 10)

Silat Harimau Self Defense Program
The Silat Harimau Self Defense program is designed for individuals who seek to learn practical self defense.

The Silat Harimau Self Defense Program consist of 12 classes.

The techniques are taught in a format that is easy to learn and to remember. The program focuses in training the gross motor skills. Therefore, making it easier for individuals to build the reflects necessary for self defense situations.

The program is suitable for women, professionals, frequent travelers, and individuals in the security field.

The techniques taught are from basic silat Harimau techniques. Therefore, the program can be an entry towards learning the Silat Harimau System.

Upon completion of the program, individuals who are interested to learn the Silat Harimau system can talk to the instructor or the teacher.

Silat Harimau Seni (Artistic) Program

The focus of this program is the artistic aspect of Silat Harimau.

Students will be taught the Harimau basic form, Langkah ampek (4 steps), Catua Langkah, weapons such as Kurambik, and Harimau  two person fight choreography.

Similar to the self defense program, this program can also be an entry towards learning the Silat Harimau System. Upon completion of the program, individuals who are interested to learn the Silat Harimau system can talk to the instructor or the teacher.
